AN ENGLISH 18TH CENTURY MILITIA SWORD TO THE MID LANCASHIRES SIGNED 'S.H.',
circa 1760, with slightly curved 24in. blade (signs of heavy use, tip re-profiled), heavily struck on both sides with a running fox makers mark bearing the letters 'S.H.' within the body, blind fuller for three quarters of the blade length along the back edge, three bar brass hilt with curved heart-shaped guard , the outer face engraved 'M-LANCASHIRE' and '6' over '20', spiral ribbed solid brass grip and bulbous pommel, no scabbard
